There are various types of hair<\/strong> and to classify them, a specific nomenclature has been made for each of them, codified from code 1A to code 4C. Have you ever stopped to think about how curly and frizzy hair is formed? The formation has genetic origins and the appearance of the hedgehog – more open, less open, a mix of the two – is the curiosity that we are going to satisfy, i.e. the texture.<\/p>\n

The TRICHOHYALINA gene<\/strong> is one of those responsible for the formation of curly and frizzy hair.<\/p>\n

Straight, wavy, curly and frizzy: how do these types exist? An expert trichologist Valcinir Bedin claims that these hair types differ based on how keratin is distributed inside the hair cortex. The more it is distributed regularly in the hair, the smoother looking hair will be. On the contrary, if the distribution of keratin is irregular, curls will form. This is not the only reason: as we anticipated, an Australian study identifies the TRICHOHYALINA gene as responsible for the formation of the curl.<\/p>\n

Inclination of the hair follicle:<\/strong> this physical condition can also determine the type of hair. If the root of the hair, i.e. the follicle, forms a 90 degree angle with the skin, the hair will be smooth. Smaller or even almost parallel angles to the epidermis will form increasingly curly hair until it becomes frizzy. In practice, the more curved the follicle, the frizzier the texture of the hair will be.<\/p>\n

Oiliness versus dryness:<\/strong> normally the curlier and frizzier the hair, the drier the hair will be. It’s simple to determine why: the natural oiliness of the hair produced in the bulb will make “more way” to flow along the entire length of the hair until it reaches the ends. This physical factor causes curly and frizzy hair to have a more marked tendency to dry out.<\/p>\n
