SCAB HAIR
Have you ever heard of scab hair? This term is well known within the community of curly and frizzy hair who have undergone the hair transition process, i.e. having returned – after a long period of straightening – to having natural hair. This term refers to hair that is born damaged after years of chemicals, with difficulty in definition, with excess frizz, immediately after having the big chop.
How to treat? Let’s look at 4 basic rules together.
1 Start a capillary chronogram immediately
The hair chronogram makes the difference in any hair type, and is even more useful, indispensable for fortifying and treating curly and frizzy hair that is in transition. Combining hydration, nutrition and reconstruction for at least a month, the capillary chronogram provides the hair with all the nutrients that the fiber needs to have a stronger structure and consequently a better appearance and begin to eliminate scab hair.
2 Wetting
Within the capillary chronogram and to combat scab hair, invest your time in a wetting phase. In this treatment, the oil is applied throughout the hair, from root to tip and also directly on the scalp with a massaging action.
3 More hydrating shampoo
Due to its ringed structure which slows down the descent of the hair’s oiliness from root to tip, curly and frizzy hair has a natural tendency to dry out. Scab hair worsens this situation by making it even drier. For these reasons, it is very important to wash your hair with a shampoo that does not cause even more dryness in the strands. Therefore avoid shampoos with very aggressive components and favor those without salts and petrolatum.
4 Use a finalizer
Don’t neglect this important product. Finish the treatment with a hydrating product to leave the hair even softer. Creams and oils are excellent for nourishing the strands and eliminating frizz, while avoiding drying out and shaping the curl.
