Did you know that-what products to use for children?

What products to use for children?

Children have less sebaceous secretions than adults. For this reason, adult shampoos that have higher cleansing power cannot be used on children. If used they can leave the scalp irritated and dry the hair.

There is another important difference: the pH factor. That of adults is normally in the range of 5.5 to 6.5-values that can irritate the eyes as well as more sensitive skin.

A value that does not irritate and dry children’s hair should normally be around 7 to 8.5.

Moisturizing: does it help?

From the age of three years, we can moisturize our babies’ hair, paying attention to the chemical components. Hydration has the main purpose of leaving hair soft and naturally moisturized.

Children with curly or frizzy hair: do they need extra care?

Yes. The nature of this hair demands more careful care; repeated moisturizing several times-for example-avoids the hair’s tendency to be dry.

Creams: should they be used?

Creams are best suited for curly or coarse hair. These types of products help detangle the hair and thus to the use of the comb. A gel or leave-in can also be helpful, especially to control its volume.

On fine, straight hair, using creams can leave the hair heavy and oily. In this case, using a spray is the best solution.
